.
Another week has flown by.
They go so quick when you are retired and busy all day.
When I think back to all those days at work.......how the time dragged. I thought five o'clock would never come.
As I have a busy day yet again......this is just a fill in....something for you all to have 'groan' at.
I was going to pop these up on the 'fishy' bits I've been doing, but there wasn't a lot of room.
Yes, Uncle B is in a 'funny' mood again today!
.
.
"Salmon Chanted Evening"
.

.
"Whale Meat Again"
.

.
"I Cod have Danced All Night"
.

.
"You Don't bring Me Flounders, anymore"
There, that was nice and quick......back tomorrow.......
Big groan all round, especially from Devon!
And for DD..
Best I could do.
.
.

I loved South Pacific, wasn't that the film with the song "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair".
ReplyDeleteGROOOAAAANNNN!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow the British Char is a soaring sole
Refrain, audacious char!
Never mind the fry and wherefore
Ringo turns seventy this year which makes him even older than Paul. Both of whom are among the revered members of your generation. Nothing wrong with any of this music and much of it I like but do you ever play or listen to bands like The Beatles or The Stones?
ReplyDeleteI dreamed a bream...
ReplyDeletePoor Flound'ring One
The hake lay blue below the brill
Take a pair of sparkLING eyes/pies
It Really Doesn't Batter. (as in the batter song which every self-respecting G&S operetta has)
Oh dear. Scarping the barrel now.
I got to see Ringo at a small Indian casino performance 2 years ago. What a fun fellow! It only took me 46 years to see a Beatle. Saw Paul also, but in Las Vegas with 20,000 other fans. There's nothing like being in the middle of all those people singing Hey Jude.
ReplyDeleteAre these romantic songs to celebrate Valentine's Day? Do the English celebrate that? If so, have a Happy VD.
Can I just say 'Groans' at the jokes ;-)
ReplyDeleteRingo 70!!!!I don't believe it! Where did the time go?
ReplyDeleteI was about to do a post on South Specific, had such a laugh about it in our household yesterday. It fits well with the above, good one!
Yes Kath, it was South Pacific…also there was “Younger than Springtime”…just like you.
ReplyDeleteFoody Groan: Did you ever watch “Gormenghast”? It was a film from a trilogy of books written by Mervyn Peake revolving around the Castle Gormenghast.
The was a female character called “Fuschia Groan” in that.
Hi CJ: The answer is I’m afraid, no.
From that era, I have only one LP by the Beatles. It is true there were a lot of good groups around at the time and I remember dancing to them when at ‘Uni’, but I never needed that type of music ‘at home’. For relaxing I preferred folk, easy listening, Trad jazz and old recordings of British Dance bands…Lew Stone etc. I guess this subject would make a post in itself.
Foody’s back with more to groan about!
I detect plenty of G&S in those!
You have one up on me Jan. I’ve never seen a Beatle in the flesh.
Sunday is Valentine’s Day and yes, cards fly in all directions, however we don’t wish each other a Happy VD…..but thanks for the thought.
Cherie, groans and comments always welcome here. How about ROFG?
Liz, I have no idea.
I didn’t know they were older than me. Amazing.
Just popping over for a read.
You detect correctly.
ReplyDeleteNo, didn't watch Gormenghast. I think that was in my pre-video days and I was out that night of the week.
