outlive us men (the weaker sex?) by many years.

Our pensioners are living on a 'fixed income' and the vast majority receive no extra aid or get any breaks while our Government and religious organizations pour hundreds of millions of pounds and tons of food to foreign countries ."
I find it strange that there is so much cross-party support for increasing overseas aid. Apparently we are committed because we promised to spend 0.7% of GDP in line with the Millennium Goals we signed up to.
So, our government keeps promises made to foreigners but rats on its own people. Amazing!

Last week the BBC actually mentioned the fact that India receives hundreds of millions in British handouts whilst still have the luxury of engaging in its own space programme.
Over the years the Indians are probably £billions better off and thousands of our pensioners will have frozen to death because they can't afford to keep warm in winter.
It wouldn't surprise me if a few in government and at the BBC might be not be too unhappy with this result.

has lowered the Winter Fuel allowance to pensioners by £50?

who has experienced a drop in their bills for gas and electric?

ReplyDeleteThe problem seems to be that the "up and coming" generation don't want to support the old, if we all die off then there will be more for them.
Our Government baffles me, they seem to be hostile to their own citizens. Especially the elderly, sick and vulnerable.

ReplyDeleteWhat can we do...I didn't vote these poshtots into power. Perhaps all OAP's should organise a 'sit down' in all the town centres? We are good at sitting down, all peaceful like. What amazes me is that they get nearly all their votes from the over fifties, and yet they ignore us!

This LibCon thingie baffles me as well. Nobody seems to be getting what they voted for!
It's a right 'dogs breakfast' if you ask me, and as you say, those that can't afford to lose anything, suffer the most.

ReplyDeleteDo refugees really get that amount of money from us? That is disgraceful. Why, when we know this, do we do nothing about it. The French wouldn't let it happen - no wonder everyone wants to come to this country!
ReplyDeleteWe have exactly the same thing happening here Bernard. Here they arrive in boats from Indonesia- queue jumping - and we let them in and hand out money in the thousands to them as well as free medical and dental treatment but decline people from Ireland and the UK who are often married to Aussies ... and we charge THEM thousands of dollars just to apply and go through the application process! Meanwhile our pensioners are waiting for 2 years for dental treatment and hip replacements and just scraping by on their pensions if they are lucky.

There must be some hidden agenda that governments are working to. Scared to tell the people. I didn't vote for this shower either. They get in and then do what they like and never stick to their election promises.
