Harry Patch, who died on Saturday aged 111, who was believed to be the last surviving British soldier to have served in the trenches on the Western Front (1914-18).

That scene was just waiting for you to snap it. What a gorgeous and poignant tribute - the simplest and best I've yet seen. Sad to see the last of the 'lost generation' is no longer there to bear witness; people have such short memories ...
